State the Part 135 07.2 requirements pertaining fuel checks in flight:
in-flight fuel checks are to be made at least hourly by the PIC to ensure that the amount of usable fuel remaining in flight is enough to proceed to the destination without using reserve fuel.
If you are in a situation where the given clearance or route by ATC will force you to burn reserves. What are your radio call actions?
Declare MINIMUM FUEL.
If you have calculated that your arrival fuel is less than your planned reserves, what should your radio call action be?
Declare MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY FUEL
The minimum fuel for all flights is the sum of the following quantities:(7)
Taxi fuel
trip fuel
Contingency fuel
Alternate fuel
Additional fuel
Discretionary Fuel
Final reserve fuel
Contingency fuel requirements:
5% of planned trip fuel, or as stated in the company operations manual but no less than 5 minutes fuel at holding speed at 1500ft above the destination aerodrome in standard conditions.
Alternate fuel requirements:
Must be sufficient for:
The missed approach procedure, trip to destination alternate aerodrome, approach procedure at destination aerordrome.
If no destination aerodrome is required:
15 minutes at 1500ft above destination.
Final reserve requirements:
For piston: 45 minutes at destination alternate or destination if non are required.
Turbine is 30 minutes at 1500ft.
