Fuel Hazards Flashcards
What are some potential dangers associated with fuel
Fuel leaks, fire, explosion
What ventilation considerations are there during open fuel tank entry
venting equipment to be bonded
metal ends in contact with ac structure
applied as soon as entry is accessible.
Safe when atmosphere is proven safe
continue during occupancy
No power to be applied during open fuel tanks.
What the stand by person responsibilities
- located immediately adjacent to tank opering
- Only authonsed persons enter
- Where possible, observe each person in tank
- pre-planned rescue procedures
- Understand alarm parocodunes
-pronated and trained in accessible equipment approprate to
hazard
- maintain communications
- regularly moniter pers:
- duration of entry * in PPE
- Monitor oxygen levels (in tank) * concentration of vapours
- Be current in CPR
- Nominate another standby person if needed to leave
- Be aware of emergency procedures (notification)
