Fuel Flashcards
What type of fuel is used ?
100LL
What is the fuel system capacity ?
Standard :24.5 USG of usable fuel and 1.5 USG of non usable fuel.
Long range : 37.5 USG of usable fuel and 1.5 USG of non usable fuel.
Where are located the fuel tanks ?
In each wing close to the fuselage.
How the engine is feed with fuel ?
The engine is feed thanks to gravity .
It goes from the cross feed pipe of the tank to the fuel shutoff valve then to the fuel strainer, afterwards to the carburator where there is a mixture control and eventually to the cylinders.
What is the engine primer system ?
It a system that pumps the fuel from the strainer directly into the cylinder intake ports .
Why should we refuel the fuel tank after each flight ?
As the tanks are crossfed we shall ensure maximum capacity of refuelling after each flight. Plus it prevents the water appearance in the tank as water in air woud consdensate.
