Fuel Flashcards
What is the total fuel capacity ?
14,600 lb (6,636 kg)
How will you normally refuel ?
Through the single point connection located on the right front side fuselage.
Maximum fuel imbalance:
- on ground ?
- inflight ?
Takeoff - 450 lb
In flight, approach and landing - 900 lb
Is there an alternate method to fill tanks and are there any limitations ?
Yes, you can add fuel through the over wing points. Ypu are able to fill only the wing, feed tanks and part of the center tank.
How many methods are there for maintaining fuel balance ?
- XFLOW
2. INTERCONNECT
What happens when the crossflow valve is opened ?
With the use of a boost pump you can transfer fuel from one feed tank to another.
What happens when the intertank valve is opened ?
Fuel can gravity flow between the two wing tanks allowing the tanks to balance.
What things occur when you press a jettison switch ?
The switch illuminates “FUEL JETT”, the on side STBY PUMP will illuminate on, the synoptic page will show the flow path.
What will stop the jettison process ?
Fuel jettison will stop manually by pilot inputs by selecting the “FUEL JETT” switch off, or AUTOMATICALLY at 800 lbs of fuel remaining per side.
In what order will the fuel deplete if all tanks are full ?
Forward tank Aft tank Center tank Wing tanks Feed tanks
Can you fuel the airplane through the single point connection without turning aircraft power on ?
Fuel / Refuel panel is powered from the hot bus. You don’t need to turn on electrical power when fueling through the single point.
