Explain why glaciers advance and retreat?

A

Because of glacial budgets. Inout id an example of accumalation, which is anything that is added to the glacier like precipitation, avavalanches or heat from the euh which is known as the zone of accumalation. Output is an example of ablation, anything that is lost for example, the glacier melts turning into meltwatr. Input mainly happens in winter where snow and precipitation happens. Outpur mainly happens when summer is arounf snd the glaciers ice melts.

Explain the process of plucking

A

As the glacier moves forwards, the process of plucking occurs when little tiny rocks known as till bond to the rock and is surrounded by meltwater. When the meltwater is frozen and deattaches, it is plucked out of the valley.
