Friday post leg, 2015 Flashcards
Gastrocnemius - O
- Lateral head: lateral aspect of lateral femoral condyle
* Medial head: popliteal surface of femur, superior to medial condyle
gastrocnemius - I
• Posterior surface of calcaneus via Calcaneal tendon
gastrocnemius - A
• Plantarflexes ankle, raises heal when walking, flexes leg at knee
Soleus -O
Posterior aspect of head of fibula, superior quarter of posterior surface of fibula, soleal line, and medial border of tibia
Soleus - I
Posterior surface of calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
Soleus - A
Plantarflexes ankle; steadies leg on foot
Plantaris -O
Inferior end of lateral supracondylar line of femur and oblique popliteal ligament
Plantaris - I
Posterior surface of calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
plantaris - A
Weakly assists gastrocnemius in plantarflexing ankle; function is probably mainly proprioceptive
soleus, plantaris, gastrocnemius innervation of superficial m. of post. comp. of leg
Tibial nerve (S1, S2)
Popliteus -O
Lateral surface of lateral condyle of femur and lateral meniscus (intra-articular; within cavity of knee joint)
Popliteus - I
Posterior surface of tibia, su- perior to soleal line
Popliteus - A
Weakly flexes knee and unlocks it by laterally rotating femur on fixed tibia, may also medially ro- tate tibia of unplanted limb
Popliteus - Innervation
Tibial nerve (L4, L5, S1)
Flexor Hallucis Longus - O
nferior two thirds of posterior sur- face of fibula and inferior part of interosseous membrane
