Criticism of frued theory
- theory is too subjective. A number of people could hear the same description of a dream and interpret it differently so why should we trust frued.
- difficult to test. Dreams cannot be verified. Are we recalling dreams accurately
- based on unreliable research. Evidence is many from case studies so difficult to generalise
- cultural and historical bias. His explanation may have reflected the culture at the time. People attitudes towards sex are more liberal
