frequency domain Flashcards
1
Q
eeg signals can also vary based on
A
frequency and form
- depending on a persons state
2
Q
how can you break down the noisy data collected by EEG?
A
- EEG plots time against uV
- need to transfer this into data identifying what voltages are present at what frequencies
- new data can be plotted on a frequency power spectrum (see figure 1), highlighting which type of brain activity is present during specific tasks
3
Q
how it the frequency power spectrum created
A
Fourier transform
4
Q
frequencies of oscillations
A
frequencies can range from 1-4Hz oscillations per second often recorded in sleep referred to as delta activity, all the way up to 30-100Hz oscillations per second called gamma activity.
- this is important to be aware of as the differing oscillations represent differing brain states
