1789, political group with extreme and violent ideals. Led by Robespierre
What was the National Assembly?
Made by the third estate (June 17 1789) to change procedures of the estates general.
What is parlement?
Name of the highest court in France (Brought back by Louis XVI), document
Who was Jacques Necker?
Finance minister in 1776, and then fired by Louis
What was the reign of terror?
1793-1794 September, bloodshed used to bring equality and freedom (guillotine)
What was the Republic of Virtue?
Describes Robespierre’s ideal nation (sacred love for nation)
Who was Maximilien Robespierre?
A middle class radical (and part of Jacobin club) who LED THE REIGN OF TERROR
What were salons?
Upper class women met up in salons to discuss important issues.
What was the Tennis Court Oath?
Happened on June 20 1789, the National Assembly promised to never separate until their ideals were established.
Who were the Emigres?
Nobles who left France from fear (The great fear period)
