The Slogan and motto of the French Revolution, this slogan meant that Men and Women were to be born free and remain free and equal in rights.

Clergy - Catholic church, the power to levy a 10% tax (Tithe) (3%)
Nobility - Royal family (not king), nobility, did not pay taxes, collected taxes (1%)
Commoners - Everyone else, peasants to the bourgeoisie (wealthy) (96%)
