French congress with power to create laws and approve declarations of war. Established by the 1791 constitution

A Jacobin leader who ruled France and created the reign of terror

Time when Robespierre ruled France like a dictator and thousands of people were killed

Moderate leaders of National Convention drafted new plan: power went to upper middle class and there was a two house legislative and an executive body of five men

French military and political leader who rose to power during the revolution and lead several successful attacks and later lead France like a dictator
