Even if redistributive taxation does restrict freedom of those who are taxed why does it not matter?
It may not increase the freedom of those who benefit but it may make them better off in other ways and can be justified on non freedom grounds such as equality, justice, social order and utility
Why is redistribution that reduces the effective freedom of those taxed justified
Because it creates more effective freedom over all
Why according to Marxists are private property rights bad?
Because they create a false consciousness which encourages people to misconceive their real interests and hence render them unfree
What is someone who recognises their need to redistribute their resources
Freer, a truly autonomous person is acting rationally hence morally
When is freedom not restricted according to Dworkin and Locke
When it protects our safety or is not something we would do in our rational mind
This is a moral viewing of freedom
Why does Cohen want to separate freedom from the moralised view
Because we should first look at if it is a restriction of freedom then look if it is justified

There is unfreedom implied by private property as others are not free to go there
