Who orchestrated the war and how? Why did his action result in war?
Otto Von Bismark edited a letter from the French Diplomat and King Wilhelm I to make it look like they were offensive to each other. This was crucial as Prussian Prince Leopold was offered the Spanish throne, France sent an ambassador to ask Prussia not to accept the throne because of tension between the two.

Prussia and the Southern States united and defeated the French army in battles.

Prussia and the southern states united to make Germany, France and Napoleon III were defeated, France signed the treat of Alsace-Lorraine.
What was the Treaty of Alsace-Lorraine?
France acknowledged the new German Empire, France lost Alsace-Lorraine to Germany, France had to pay reparations, proper border between France and Germany established and King Kaiser Wilhelm I was recognised as Emperor.
