Define Cru classe and Cru bourgeois
Cru classe: official classified vineyard in Medoc or Provence
Cru bourgeois: official designated growth below Cru classe in Medoc
Describe Vin Doux Naturel (VDN) and Vin De Liqueur (VDL)
VDN: fermented to 5-10% then grape spirit added, fortified wine with natural sugar content of remaining wine
VDL: unfermented must added to 96% alcohol grape spirit (grape juice with alcohol)
Define cuvasion and verasion
Cuvasion: wines time on the skins during fermentation
Verasion: process of green grapes changing color on the vine
Describe VDP and VDF
VDP: specific origin required, wider range of varietals, allows for innovation
VDF: less strict than VDP, previously Vin de Table
Describe climat and clos
Climat: single plot of land within a single vineyard site
Clos: like climat but enclosed within walls
