Q

What is the difference between a physical and chemical change?

A

A physical change describes a change that does not produced a new substance. While chemical change undergoes a change and it does produce a new substanceEx: Precipitation, heat/light, cloudiness.

Q

Who is Antoine Lavoisier? (Late 1700 century)

A

An early scientist who built a magnificent laboratory and invited scientists to view and study it. Conducted numerous controlled experiments including decomposing water. And establish several of the laws of chemical combination including the law of conservation of mass. He organize chemistry into a comprehensive science and is generally referred to as the father of modern chemistry.
