A

Vestal virgin gave birth to them and named mars as their father. They were exposed and left to drown in the Tiber river. A she-wolf took care of them until a shepherd found them and took them to his wife Larentia, called a Lupa.

They wanted to start a city, but argued over name/ruler. They decided by means of augury. Remus stood on Aventine hill, and six vultures came first. Romulus stood on Palatine and twelve vultures came second.
