Q

What is a Layer Mask?

A

It uses a single mask to apply a single image and allows you to hide portions of a layer while revealing other layers positioned underneath.

This is accomplished by adjusting the layer’s transparency and opacity through a mask.

What is a Clipping Mask?

A

Allows you to hide portions of an image. Created with multiple layers. It’s a shape that masks other artwork and only reveals what lies within the shape. Not only can clipping masks be made from shapes but they can also be applied to text and vector objects.

20
Q

What is camera raw?

A

It’s an independent utility that also runs in photoshop. It was designed to enhance photographic images. Camera raw is about making global modifications to entire images at once.

It also allows you to edit multiple photos at a time. It offers better controls for color balancing images, breathing life into overly dark shadows and dimming down overly bright highlights.

Even tho it lacks layers, everything it does is nondestructive.

21
Q

What is the difference between filters and adjustment layers?

A

Filters are destructive. You are permanently modifying the pixels inside the image. unless you add it on top of a smart object.. which will require additional overhead.

22
Q

Exposure is measured in what?

A

f-stops
