Q

How are fossil fuels formed?

A

Oil + natural gas:
Millions of years ago, animals and plants died and fell to the bottom of the sea. They were covered by mud. Their remains were chemically altered and this formed these substances. Can be obtained by drilling into rocks

Coal:
Millions of years ago plants died in swamps, they were buried in mud which stopped them from rotting. The absence of oxygen turned the mud into rock and plant fossils into coal
