What do (s), (l), (g) and (aq) mean?
Solid, liquid, gas and aqueous
How do you write a balanced ionic equation?
Work out the balanced symbol equation, then write out the equation breaking up any aqueous, ionic compounds into separate ions, then cross out any ions that are on both sides (the answer often is something like x+y > xy)
What are the two purposes of hazard symbols on containers?
1) To indicate the dangers associated with the contents.
2) To inform people about safe-working precautions with substances in the laboratory.
