Formula Flashcards
What does Pythangoras Theorem state
It states that the area of the square of the largest sides in a Right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the square of each of the other 2 sides
c2 = a2 + b2
Which is the longest side of a right angled triangle
If you draw an arrow from the right angle, it will point to the longest side.
What is the longest side of a right angled triangle called
Hypotenuse
What is the hypotenuse for this triangle, and the square of its side is
52 = 25
What is the square of the other sides of this triangle, and the sum of the square’s
32 = 9
42 = 16
32 + 42 = 9 + 16
= 25
identify the hypotenuse
side f
identify the hypotenuse
side y
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem
y2 = x2 + w2
or
y2 = w2 + x2
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem
f2 = d2 + e2
or
f2 = e2 + d2
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem to find d
d2 = f2 - e2
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem to find e
e2 = f2 - d2
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem to find x
x2 = y2 - w2
Form the equation using pythagoras theorem to find w
w2 = y2 - x2
