Select information you want based on:
How interesting it is
And how relative it is to the brief
Chose information based on purpose
Plan presentation
Chose form
Include: exaggeration, humour, sarcasm, puns, interesting information, factual and realistic, quotes (can be made up) include statistics and facts (can be made up)
What things to include in travel writing:
First person Description of place in great detail Vivid picture of place using very descriptive, imaginative language. Make feelings clear Specific scene Informative Writer will have opinion.
What things to include in a press release:
Grab attention with a good headline.
Get to point in first paragraph - following paragraphs should be supporting information.
Include hard numbers -stats
Make it frantically flawless
Include quotes whenever possible
Include contact information (preferably at top of the page)
One page - short and sweet inform press but maintain attention.
Provide access to more info e.g reference to website- guide them through to website and keep their information piqued.
Information - facts and stats can be made up - shows skill
Features of articles:
Rhetorical questions Varied sentence length and use of puntuation Techniques e.g repetition Quotes Adjectives - clustered together Concert imagery
Structure of article:
Writer in first sentence- her dilemma and context
Her journey - failures… New ideas… Success
Wider context of the search - other writers advice and quotes.
Back to her… In this example get way of working and advice for the reader.
