Q

What is Vengeance?

A
  • The passion to get even. It is a hot desire to give back as much pain as someone gave to you.
  • The problem with revenge is that it never gets what it wants. It never evens the score. Fairness never comes.
  • The chain reaction set off by every act of vengeance always takes an unhindered course. It ties both the injured and the injurer to an escalation of pain.

Why Forgiveness is important?

A
  • One of the reasons that forgiveness is so important because when we refuse to forgive we put ourselves in a position of judgment over others
  • When we do this we fail to see our own failings and we unjustly take on God’s role as righteous judge
