What is a search warrant?
A document that allows police to enter and search you or your person
What are the exceptions to search warrants?
Emergencies, to prevent the loss of evidence, consent is given, or there’s a lawful arrest for property within control
What is an eyewitness testimony?
Someone who saw the crime and gives a testimony of what they saw by
What is an expert testimony
Professional scientists who give a scientific “opinion” to back up the procedures done and the results
What two cases helped to solidify the search and seizure rules?
Mincey v. Arizona
Michigan v. Tyler
Why is it important to obtain a search warrant
Because if they don’t regardless of how crucial the evidence is it can be ruled out in court and all the evidence beforehand might be questioned
