What is the Cerebrum’s job and what percentage of neurons does it consist of within the CNS?
Its role is for cognitive skills, such as: Thinking, perception and use of language. It consists of 70% of the neurons within the CNS.
What is the Amygdala (Limbic System) responsible for?
The Amygdala is responsible for one’s anger and aggression.
What is the Hippocampus (Limbic System) responsible for?
The Hippocampus is responsible for emotion regulation, learning and memory.
What is the Thalamus responsible for?
The Thalamus is responsible fore one’s wakefulness and sleep.
What is the Hypothalamus responsible for?
The Hypothalamus is responsible for one’s: Body temperature, hunger, thirst, sexual behaviour, production and release of hormones (endocrine system), reactions to stress.
What is the Basal Ganglia responsible for?
The Basal Ganglia is responsible for voluntary motor control (movement), practical learning, eye movements, cognitive function and emotions.
