Forearm Muscles Flashcards
Compartments of forearm muscles.
- anterior: flexors → innervated by median nerve
- posterior: extensors → innervated by radial nerve
Muscles of the superficial layer of the anterior compartment of the forearm.
From lateral to medial:
* pronator teres
* flexor carpi radialis
* palmaris longus
* flexor carpi ulnaris
* flexor digitorum superficialis
Muscles of the deep layer of the anterior compartment of the forearm.
- flexor digitorum profundus
- flexor pollicis longus
- pronator quadratus
Muscles of the superficial layer of the posterior compartment of the forearm.
- brachioradialis
- extensor carpi radialis longus
- extensor carpi radialis brevis
- extensor digitorum
- extensor digiti minimi
- extensor carpi ulnaris
Muscles of the deep compartment of the posterior layer of the forearm.
