What happens if forces are balanced with a object at rest and and object moving?
If moving, the object will continue to move at a constant speed
If not moving the object will remain at rest
What will happen with u balanced forces
They will cause acceleration
What 2 factors increase acceleration in unbalanced forces
- bigger net force
- lighter mass
What is the equation of the net force?
Net force = mass x accel
What is force directly proportional to?
Acceleration AND force
What is terminal velocity?
When an object speeds up until there is no more acceleration
What is elastic behaviour
When a force is removed the spring goes back to its original length
What is plastic behaviour ?
Beyond the elastic limit, when the spring is permanently stretched
Is there more extension with 2 springs in parallel or series?
Parallel, force is spread between both so extension is half
