Forces And Interactions Flashcards
Newton’s First law
And object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force
Newton’s 2 law
The acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables- the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object
Newton’s 3 law
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction
Balanced and unbalanced forces
Forces that are equal in size but opposite in direction are called balanced forces. Forces that causes a change in motion of an object are unbalanced forces
Inertia
A property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion n a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force
Gravity
The force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass
Gravitational force
The force of attraction between all masses in the universe
Orbit
The curved path of a celestial object or space und a star, planet, or moon, especially a periodic elliptical revolution
Rotation
The action of rotating around an axis or center
Revolution
The movement of an object in a circular or elliptical course around another or about an axis or center
Electromagnetic
A type of magnet is which the magnetic field is produced by an electric current
Static electricity
A stationary electric charge, typically produced by friction, that causes sparks or crackling of the attraction of dust of hair
Proximity
Nearness in space, time, or relationship
