Forces Flashcards
Push or pull that body exert on another
Force
An object moving at a constant velocity keeps moving at that velocity, an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by a net force.
Newtons first law
Tendency of an object to resist any change in motion
Inertia
Combination of all forces that act on an object
Net Force
Every object exerts a force on every other project.
Gravity
Amount of matter of “stuff” object has measured in Kg
Mass
Measure of force of gravity on an object mass; how hard and objects pulled.
Weight
Force=mass times acceleration
Newtons 2nd law
Force that opposes motion between 2 surfaces that are touching each other
Friction
Resists getting an object moving (This is when objects are not moving)
Static Friction
Sliding rolling friction that resists keeping an object moving (happens while moving)
Kinetic Friction
To every action there is an equal (in size) and opposite (in direction) reaction force
Newtons 3rd Law
Mass on the move, force required to stop a moving object.
Momentum
Anything that is thrown or shot through the air
Projectile
Acting forward center of a curved or circular path
Contripetal
