What is cross contamination?
Cross contamination is the transfer of dangerous micro-organisms from contaminated food or area to cooked or prepared food.

Using equipment (knives, chopping boards) that has not been sanitized
Sitting on a workbench
Using a tasting spoon incorrectly
Sneezing or coughing on food
Using unwashed lettuce/ vegetables in sandwiches and salads
Allowing pests into your work area or near food
