Severity of impact depends on duration of exposure, type of plant, concentration of pollutant
Examples of water pollution?
Increased sediment flows into rivers and streams because of erosion + use of fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides = decline in water quality
Examples of land degregation?
Native vegetation replaced with pastures and cereal crops. Poor farming practices - historically little understanding of need for crop rotation.

When all people at all times have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain healthy and active lives.

Regulate how food is distributed
Ensure that there is fair system of distribution and trade

Protection of existing natural ecosystems, e.g., by reducing the current rate of land clearing
