The Mouth
A
Food is put into the mouth where teeth break it up into small pieces

The tongue mixes the food with salvia to form a bolus

Digested food is now small enough to be absorbed into the blood where it can be used

The bolus travels down this tube. Muscles squeeze it using a technique called peristalsis
