Level 2 interference

A

Moderate incident that is resolved by a crew member only after some difficulty

Includes but not limited to

  • continuation of level 1
  • continuation of level 1 that was unresolved
  • repeated failure of passenger to comply with crew safety instructions
  • belligerent obscene or lewd behaviour

ON GROUND
Notify capt for immediate removal from the aircraft, authorities may meet aircraft

IN AIR
Diffuse 
-with capt permission issue "notice from the capt"
-monitor
-update the capt
-complete IHR

Flight crew actions

  • notify dispatch
  • advise atc ask law enforcement to meet aircraft

Level 3 interference

A

Seriously threatened

  • continued level 2
  • tampering with emergency or safety equipment
  • deliberate damage of part of the aircraft or property
  • injuring a person
  • violent argumentative threatening intimidating disorderly harrasment and assault

  • attempt to calm and persuade
  • solicit ABP’s to assist non violent
  • advise capt

A

Security threat occurs
-attempted or unauthorized intrusion into flight deck
-credible threat of death or serious bodily injury in attempt to gain control over aircraft
-the display or use of weapon
-sabotaging
Any attempt to unlawfully seize contol of aircraft

A

May declare “minimum fuel” to ATC when it is determined by either the capt or flight dispatch that the landing will occur with less than min divert fuel (ALTN +MIN RSRV)

Fueling with passengers on-board

A

Advise flight attendant if you are leaving

  • 2 flight attendants must be onboard
  • lead near L1 door
  • P2 near L2 door
  • announcement that fuelling is taking place
  • L1 shall remain open, unless during inclement weather provided the door is closed but not locked

Fuel spill or fire alert- do pass need to be deplaned?

A

Yes and kept well clear of the immediate vicinity if the spill is greater than 10 feet in one direction or 50 square feet

A

4 A’s

  1. Airport
    - is approved for LOS
    - medium or high intensity runway lights
    - runway centreline lights OR centreline markings
  2. Alternate
    - take off alternate
  3. Aircrew

    - 150 hrs as captain
  4. Aircraft
    - equipment (no MELs effecting)
    - performance calc if loose engine we have sufficient performance

RVR visibility requirements

A

In canada:

  • Must have RVR 1200 or
  • Ground vis 1/4 sm or better. Where rvr is below 1200 it is fluctuating above and below minima or is not reported
  • pilot vis if neither above are avilable

Any 2 of touchdown, mid, and rollout
But all reporting are controlling
( far end is advisory only)

Approach ban

A

USA
Whatever is on the “advisory” visibility is you approach ban minima for cat 1 in the usa
- touchdown rvr controls
-mid controls if touchdown is unavailable
-ground vis controls if rvr is unavailable
- no exemption for localized phenomena or weather fluctuations
- allowed to continue if inside the FAF wjen the weather drops
