The art of ploughing a field reveals the sheer admiration the boy feels for his father but after trying to be his “follower” he develops the understanding of trying to find his own identity.

Iambic tetrameter quickens the pace an gives a breathless quality which reflect the pace he works at.
Ordered structure reflects the tight ordered ploughing and the level of neatness and perfection reflects skill of farming and how much the boy respects this.
3 stanzas have full rhyme but last three that focus on the boy are half rhyme and shows he is unable to match the perfection of his dad even in a poem as he can’t achieve the full rhyme structure.
Pronoun I is repeated in the last 3 stanzas which shows the change in focus and how he no longer wants to be like his dad but find his own identity instead.
