  • Flat areas retain water when it is difficult to do so on the mountains
  • Most crops are grown in the lower valley
  • Llamas carry materials for irrigation and building into inhabitable and inaccessible areas
  • Some cash crops are grown e.g. soybeans, rice and cotton
