What is the first step to fold mountain formation?
Sediment accumulates in shallow seas or depressions known as geosynclines as rivers enter those areas
What is step two?
A bed of layered sedimentary rocks is created as compression occurs
What is step three?
Plates move together due to convection currents in the mantle which crumples the Rock together

Rock starts to form folds which have anticlines and synclines that push up

The place where the heavier plate meets the lighter is called the subduction zone.
