How do you lower the pitch on a flute?
reduce airspeed, or roll out
How do you raise the pitch on a flute
increase airspeed, or roll in
How does temperature affect the tuning of the flute?
Cold = flat Warm = sharp
If the flute joints aren’t fitting together, what is an easy fix you should try?
Rub a little bit of pencil graphite on the insert portion of the joint.
Is the tongue a releasing device, or a striking device?

What syllable should be used for articulating in the flute? What about double tonguing?
“T”

When should you teach tonguing?
Only after they can consistently make a good sound using only their breath (meaning that other instruments may be articulating before flute players begin).
What size of aperture will beginning players have? Is it efficient or accurate yet?
Beginning players will have overly large apertures. They will be inefficient with their air, and will not have a very accurate airstream
How is vibrato produced on the flute? Where is not produced? What grade should students start getting comfortable with Vibrato?
It is produced through the breath. Not the jaw, mouth, or neck. 8th grade flute players.
