Fluoroscopy Flashcards
1
Q
What is Fluoroscopy used for?
A
To visualise motion or changing processes intrinsically, meaning we need to continously x ray at low doses in real time
2
Q
What is needed to do this?
A
An Image Intensifier (repalces the film)
3
Q
What does an Image Intensifier do?
A
it converts x ray input to light output which can be viewed with a TV system
4
Q
Describe a conventional image intesnifier
A
An evacuated glass tube with an input phosphor which is made from Csl doped with sodium.
5
Q
What is the photocathode made from?
A
Antimony and Caesium compunds (SbCs3)
6
Q
NB what is the input phosphor made from
A
usually made from CsI doped with Sodium(Na)
