10
Q

fluoro uses low doses per frame what does this result in

A
  • significant quantum noise and ultimately poor statistical integrity/low SNR
  • this limits the ability to see small objects

what is AERC and what is it usually used in

A
  • automatic exposure control

- used with continuous fluoro

12
Q

what does AERC do and how does it do that

A
  • keeps SNR constant
  • regulates xray exposure rate incident on the input phosphor of the flat panel detector
  • AERC sensor will send signals to the xray generator if an increase or decrease in exposure is needed
