Fluidised Beds Flashcards
1
Q
State four assumptions for the K-L bubble model.
A
Emulsion is at minimum fluidisation conditions
Reaction gas is at convective flow through the bed only via the bubble gas region
No flow of gas through the emulsion region
Bubbles are all the same size and distributed evenly throughout the bed
2
Q
What is elutration velocity?
A
the velocity where entrainment of solids in fluids and where it is carried over head
3
Q
What is aggregative fluidisation?
A
Aggregative fluidisation is the chaotic mixing of solids and the appearance of froth (which is gas bypassing the bed and forming bubbles
