Yes! Stuttering can be eliminated if treated young. Older clients taught to manage it.
How could you treat a child with a stutter and speech problem?
Palin PCI (indirect) with direct speech therapy. Avoids conflicting treatment.
What happens while monitoring before treatment?
Parents take daily SR. Monthly clinic sessions. Reduce parents demands (eg pressure to talk correctly).
What is the Westmead program? Who is it for?
Syllable-timed speech (robot talking). Pre-schoolers.
What is the criteria for stage 2 (maintenance) in WP and LP?
Mean SR 2 and %SS <1 for 3 consecutive weeks
