Flight Plan Check

F-PLN Key…………………………………..Press

-runway may be checked using the ND selector in MAP
-Ensure all required SID waypoints and constraints are correctly entered in the FMS flight plan
-Cap announces each waypoint sequentially
-FO uses CDU arrow keys to scroll through the flight plan referencing his ND until each waypoint displays in the center of the ND
-FO responds with “checked” after each announced waypoint
- unless its LAT/LONG or PBD waypoint
-FO checks for unwanted discontinuities and logical flight plan course line while scrolling
-Capt places a check mark on release
-FO compares F-PLAN DIST TO DEST (LSK 5L) and direct DIST TO DEST waypoint (LSK3R) on PROG page when captain announces distance to destination from release.

  1. Ignition Selector to: START A/B
    - (A: odd dates, B: Even)
  2. Check Arm lights illuminated
  3. Check PACK VALVE flow bars extinguish
  4. Press ENG__START switch
  5. Observe blue OPEN LIGHT illuminates.
  6. At 20% N2, select fuel lever ON
  7. N1 rotation must be obtained within 30 secs of reaching N2 idle speed
  8. After 45% N2, but no later than ground idle rpm, observe blue OPEN light extinguishes. announce “starter valve closed”

After both engines are started and N1/N2 indications stablize at ground idle RPM check EGT and engine oil press gauges in normal range. check oil quantity decreases by 4-6 qts

  1. Ignition Selector to: START A/B

  2. Check Arm lights illuminated
  3. Check PACK VALVE flow bars extinguish
  4. Press ENG__START switch
  5. Observe blue OPEN LIGHT illuminates.
  6. Check oil pressure increase(must increase)
  7. At 20% N2, select fuel lever ON (if N2 is less than 15% do not raise fuel lever)
  8. Start clock with fuel lever (120 seconds max period for stabilizing at idle)
  9. Check OIL LO PRESS light illuminates when fuel lever is selected ON.
  10. Check initial fuel flow stabilizes at normal around 800pph
  11. N1 rotation must be obtained by 40% N2
  12. If N2 ground idle is less than 57% record in AML
  13. After 45% N2, but no later than ground idle rpm, observe blue OPEN light extinguishes. announce “starter valve closed”
