Flight Plan Check
F-PLN Key…………………………………..Press

-runway may be checked using the ND selector in MAP
-Ensure all required SID waypoints and constraints are correctly entered in the FMS flight plan
-Cap announces each waypoint sequentially
-FO uses CDU arrow keys to scroll through the flight plan referencing his ND until each waypoint displays in the center of the ND
-FO responds with “checked” after each announced waypoint
- unless its LAT/LONG or PBD waypoint
-FO checks for unwanted discontinuities and logical flight plan course line while scrolling
-Capt places a check mark on release
-FO compares F-PLAN DIST TO DEST (LSK 5L) and direct DIST TO DEST waypoint (LSK3R) on PROG page when captain announces distance to destination from release.

Aircraft Log preflight
- AML on board
- A/C tail number printed on the outside and inside the front cover
- reviews first 5 white log pages(no open write ups and pages are blank)
- ARD items
- correct tail number
- Maintenance history
- Current MEL/CDL/OIL deferrals and ‘IN WORK” items
- Expiration date/time of the service check
- expiration date/time of the security/tire pressure/daily check, every 24 hours
- CAT status, must agree with release, 30 day window
- RVSM Capability, must agree with release
- FANS capability
First Officer Flight Deck Preparation, ACARS
Check that ACARS preflight has been properly initialized. Correct any discrepancies
First Officer Flight Deck Preparation, EFIS Control panel
- Adjust PFD and ND Brightness
- FD/FPV switch to ON
- FMA displays FD2 (white)
- command bars in view - V/N/I switch to NAV
- Set DH to -05
- ND selector to TEST
- CHK ATT displays on both PFD’s
- NAV ADC illuminates on ECAM and MASTER CAUTION light and SC activate
- ECAM displays ATT DISCREPANCY
- ND selector as required
First Officer Flight Deck Preparation, airspeed indicator
Airspeed pointed at zero
First Officer Flight Deck Preparation, RMI
- No flags
- If HDG flag is in view, check IRS alignment - ADF/VOR selectors to VOR(if installed)
- ND/RMI on same side agree within 1 degree
- Note- if they don’t agree, position MSU 2 mode selector to OFF for at least 15 secs. after realignment, re-check heading indications
