flowers, food chain, fertilisation, seeds Flashcards
what are insecticides?
chemicals sprayed on crops to kill insects.
what are pesticides?
chemicals sprayed on crops to kill pests
what are herbicides?
chemicals sprayed on plants /crops to kill them.
what is an ovule?
a part of ovary; female germ part.

flowers attract insects. insects drink the nectar. whilst they drink, they pick up pollen. when they go to next flower the pollen from them sticks to the stigma and travels down the ovary to fertilise the eggs. this makes seeds which make new plants.
what is a producer?
a green plant that is the start of food chains. it produces stores of food/cells/energy
what is photosynthesis?

what is a food web?
shows how different food chains in area can inter-link.
