- Climate change makes the atmosphere warmer thus making it contain more moisture

- 242 people died
- 200,000 houses lost power
- Train lines suspended
- Prison and hospital evacuated
- Fish died in puddles in streets
- Soldiers and relief workers helped evacuate people
- Flood defences have to be checked
