Heavy + continuous rainfall on saturated ground –> Water flows into rivers quick as surface run-off.
Steep slopes –> Rate of runoff increases
Impermeable bedrock –> Rain cannot soak into –> More runoff
Urbanization, impermeable surface.
Deforestation –> Less interception, more runoff.
