ICS Failure

A
  1. Perform ICS Check : visually inspect hoist pendant ICS switch and visually Inspect chord. If in a safe position to do so, retrieve device.
  2. Perform ICS Check : check PTT and chord
  3. Slowly move aircraft to establish visual reference with hoisting area
  4. Pay out slack as necessary.
  5. Troubleshoot ICS malfunction
    If ICS malfunction has been corrected, proceed with normal hoist procedures.
    If ICS malfunction has not been corrected
  6. Position aircraft to recover rescue device as per rescue briefing.
  7. Signal pilot to reestablish visual reference with hoisting area by pointing to the left side of the aircraft. Rescue device may or may not have been recovered.
  8. Observe signal, pass to pilot
  9. Slowly move aircraft to establish visual reference with hoisting area.
    If rescue device has been recovered
  10. Complete hoist of rescue device
    If rescue device has not been recovered
  11. Make on scene repairs, abort mission, or take other actions as appropriate.
