Flight Instruments Flashcards
Is the radar display available in all modes of the ND selector?
No, radar is not available in PLAN
Are there any procedures that call for the use of the VOR switch installed on the EFIS CONTROL panel?
Yes, VOR approaches or DME info
When the ILS pb is selected, where will the localizer and g/s scales be displayed?
Onside PFD
What does STS indicate when displayed on the EWD?
The STATUS page holds messages
If the upper ECAM display fails, what happens automatically?
EWD display replaces the SD display on the lower ECAM
If the lower ECAM fails, can we display the lower ECAM data?
We could press and hold the desired systems page pb on the ECAM control panel, and the page will be displayed on the upper ECAM. we could also select the rotary switch labeled ECAM/ND XFR on the switching panel to Capt or FO.
Describe the purpose of the EIS switching panel?
Permits cockpit display screens to access secondary sources.
Can the lower ECAM display be transferred to another display?
Yes
DMC 1 (or 2) has failed. Can the information on the affected displays be restored?
Yes. Rotate the switch labeled EIS DMC to replace the failed DMC with DMC 3.
What happens when TO CONFIG pb is depressed?
An application of takeoff power is simulated. A warning occurs if The aircraft is not in the takeoff configuration
If during flight we received continuous spurious warning messages that we knew to be incorrect, is there a way to cancel this caution?
By depressing the EMER CANC pb, we can cancel the level 1 and 2 caution msgs only (along with the MC), however that specific caution is now inhibited for the remainder of the flight.
We have pressed the EMER CANC pb. How can we get the system back to normal?
By pressing the RCL pb for more than 3 seconds.
How could we check the status page for inoperative systems or MX messages?
Press the STS pb
Why is it very important to maintain a ‘lights out’ condition on the ECP during the flight?
Because the automatic phase of flight function and display of the relative system on the lower ECAM during an abnormal will be inhibited by the page we have displayed.
We have 3 DMCs which acquire and process all info and signals received from the sensors and computers to generate the images displayed on the DUs. Where is the information normally displayed from DMC 1 and 2?
Normally DMC 1 supplies data to PFD 1, ND 1, and upper ECAM. DMC 2 supplies data to PFD2, ND 2, and lower ECAM.
