Flight Controls Flashcards
How many PCU’s per aileron? Rudder? Elevator?
- 2
- 3
- 3 per elevator
What does the 7/900 have that the 200 calls spoilerons?
Multi-function spoilerons. They move in conjunction at low speeds for greater roll response.
What does the ROLL DISCONNECT do?
- Isolated the left control wheel and associated cable system from the right aileron system
- Separates the control wheel interconnect tube and advised the SECU’s (200) and SSCU’s (7/900) that the tube has been disconnected
- Single side roll control is then available
How long after pulling the ROLL DISC handle do the amber ROLL SEL lights illuminate? Which light do you select?
- 20
2. The side with the unjammed aileron
After pressing the ROLL SEL what does the caution message turn into?
A “PLT ROLL CMD or CPLT ROLL CMD” advisory message
What else will cause the advisory message to appear?
Activating the bungee breakout switch
What do the Yaw Dampers do?
- Improve directional stability and turn coordination
- Damping out yaw oscillations “Dutch roll” tendency is controlled
- If both fail the autopilot will disconnect (AP only needs 1 to operate)
What does the PITCH DISCONNECT do?
- Provides reduces pitch control (one elevator only) in the operable control surface
- A jam tolerant mechanism on each elevator PCU allows 2 operating PCU’s to overpower a jammed one
What functions as gust locks while on the ground? (200)
2 Flutter dampers on each elevator
What is the trim priority?
- Pilot
- Co-pilot
- AP
- Auto trim
- MACH trim
Where does the stall protection system (SPS) receive inputs from?
- L/R AOA vanes
- AHRS
- Slat/Flap Position
- WOW
- ADC’s
When are the flap position indications displayed?
When one or more exist:
- Flaps>0
- Landing gear not up and locked
- BTMS in the red
