Flight Controls Flashcards
Leading edge consists of
2 individual Krugar flaps (inboard on each wing) 3 slats (outboard on each engine)
Intermediate stage of the slats
Flaps 1,2 or 5
Leading edge max speed
230kts
Leading edge devices normally extended with
Hydraulic system B
During alternate operation they are
Electronically controlled
The alternate flaps switches send signals to
- Leading edge standby shut off valve
- Standby hydraulic system
Max flap extension altitude
20000ft
Do not deploy speed brake below
1000ft RA
Extending or retracting alternate flaps what is the cooling period
15sec to prevent alternate flap motor damage
After cycling the flaps 0-15 with alternate flap motor allow …… Before attempting another cycle
5min
Flight control switches on (guarded position) does what
Opens flight control shutoff valve to elevator Feel, elevator, Ailerons, Rudder
Turning the flight control switch off does what
- Closes flight control shutoff valve
- Closes corresponding hydraulic system (Yaw damper system B)
- Respective LOW PRESSURE light and FEEL DIFF PRESS lights will illuminate
Flight control switch to STBY RUD does what
- Closes flight control valve (Feel elevator, Elevator, Aileron, Rudder)
- Activates the standby pump
- Illuminates the STBY RUD LIGHT
- Respective thrust reverser will be powered
Low pressure lights (A and B) indicate what
Hydraulic pressure <1300psi
Yaw damper is powered by
Hydraulic system B (if the system goes U/S with Yaw damper on, the yaw damp inop light does not illuminate)
