Name the stabilisers
Horizontal (elevators) and vertical (rudder)
What does the rudder do?
Help to turn the plane
What’s the key information for the elevators?
They allow rise and are on the trailing edge of horizontal stabilisers
Where are the ailerons and what do they do? Give an example.
At the end of each wing and allow the plane to turn. If left is up it turns right, if right is up it turns left
What assists on slowing down the aircraft?
Spoilers- the spoilers spoil the air flow therefore slow down the air craft
Where are the spoilers?
On the upper surface of the wings
Describe where the Flaps and Slats are positioned.
The flaps are on the trailing edge of wings and the slats are in the leading edge of the wings
When are the flats and slats fully deployed?
Landing, creating more surface area to assist with decent
When are the flats and slats partially deployed?
During take off
Where would you find the main landing gear?
Underneath in the centre of the aircraft
Where would you find the nose gear?
At the front under neath the nose
What’s the under neath of the plane called?
The under carriage
What’s the main body of the plane called?
The fuselage
Where is engine One positioned?
The left hand side of the aircraft
What engine would you find on the right hand side of the air craft?
Engine number 2
