What hours encompass ‘Late Night Operations’
More than 30 minutes between 2300 and 0530
What is suitable RESTING accommodation?
Must be environmentally conducive to rest with a comfortable chair and sustenance
What is suitable SLEEPING accommodation?
Where possible, separate self contained room.
Comfortable bed.
Climate control of noise, temperature, light, ventilation and pests.
Clean drinking water and easy access to sustenance.
Requirements for reporting extension of duty?
FCM must file a report to be held for 365 days
How many hours can a tour of duty be extended if it has already commenced?
An extra 2 hours at the discretion of the FCM
Maximum number of late night operations per week?
Not more than four consecutive duty periods and not more than four in seven consecutive days
What is the maximum extension of duty?
Up to 4 hours (16 hours duty) with 4 hours of suitable sleeping accommodation
What is the duty extension limit where only resting facilities are available?
Up to 2 hour extension with 4 hours of suitable resting accommodation

Normal roster allowance until standby exceeds 12 hours, then this must be reduced by 1 hour for every hour over the 12 hours on standby

When do you need more than 10 hours time free of duty?
Must increase the standard 10 hours by 1 hour for each hour the preceding duty was more than 10 hours
When can time free of duty be reduced to 9 hours?
If the preceding duty was less than 10 hours and the time free encompasses 2200-0600
When can duty be only 12 hours following an extended tour of duty?
If the next time free of duty is to be 36 hours
